Prelude:
Putting ideas to the test,
testing their mettle.
Even writing this e-mail I have to remind myself to re-imagine
how to navigate the constructed ships of my mind to be one with the ocean
Questions:
Here’s an idea;
How to be urgent and hopeful?
When we shut down for contagion
dolphins, clear skies and other expression of beauty came a little closer to our homes.
What would it take for me to slow down for a season?
Yet still meet the urgency of my work and do it with purpose and reason.
A farmer never walks empty handed,
like birds materials only temporarily are landing,
a great migration of forms through time
what are the configurations that allow slow,
creative and
important to align?
Actioning:
My mission is to make forests better,
which is about relationships and too multifaceted and specific to explain with letters.
For my own life I rely too much on fossil fuels
For two weeks, for two months or for more could I gather enough food
enough company
enough meaningful reality
to tell the stories I need to tell (I have my best ideas while walking)
tend the relationships (what are the routes to walk, the peoples to meet)
help with the tasks (carrying firewood, building a sauna, preparing the ground for new growth etc.)
something slow, creative and important
a culture in which to bask
